(gen. sareac̣, instr. sareōc̣ ) “band, strap, cord” (*k̂erei̯ü), sard (istem) “ spider”(*k̂r̥-ti-); Gk. καῖρος (*k̂eri̯-os) σειρά τις ἐν ἱστῶ, δι” ἧς οἱ στήμονες διεγείρονται Phot., perhaps ‘schnũre beim Anbinden of Gewebes”, καίρωμα “ds., also Gewebe”, καιρόω “binde das Gewebe together”, zero grade κειρία “the Gurt of Bettgestelles”, pl. (NT.) “Grabtũcher” (die forms κηρία, καιρία s. Liddell-Scott; die meaning “Grabtũcher” through connection in κήρ “Todesgöttin”?).
